Summer Classic 2019 – Redbacks Make the Final
The 2019 version of the Summer Classic proved to be the best yet for Sydney, with many highlights and an incredible run to the final. From the very first whistle, Sydney raced into a 4-0 half time lead against NSW rivals Newcastle, holding on for a solid 7-2 win in the opening match. It was a very impressive performance in the Redbacks first match of the year, and also being Matt’s debut.

SCRKC tackles SUPBall
Rain delays pushed the club’s Christmas party out into 2019 which turned out all for the better as the sun was shining and the water was perfect.
The Redbacks tackled (literally) a new sport – SUPball (Stand Up Paddle Ball) at Manly in Sydney and can safely say that we’ve caught the bug for this emerging sport! Described as a combination of netball, water polo, lacrosse and rugby(!) we certainly did plenty of throwing, paddling, falling and tackling.
We’ll certainly be back for another game before the end of summer!
Check out SUPBall here.
Summer is here! The Redbacks take korfball to the beach!
Sun’s out, guns out… or in this case… wind’s out, post Christmas bellies out… A blustery day hit Nobbys beach in korfball but this didn’t stop 16 Sydney korfers from travelling up north to play in the first ever NSW beach korf tourno.
A mix of Redbacks and Royals, combined with some superstar actionball newbies hit the sand and had a fantastic day of beach korfball.
Massive congrats go to Sam Turtle and Marleen Jellema as the official ‘players of the day’.

Sunday’s sausage sizzle sells out!
1008 sausages on a 30deg day made for a very successful fundraiser to kickstart the club financially for next year.
Drum roll….thanks to a lot of sausage turning, drinks fishing and great tune selecting, we made a profit of $2,045.42! The single highest value ever made at an SCRKC fundraiser!
Massive thanks goes to Graham Morris, Victoria Wah, Tania Jorge, Sam Turtle, Ben King, Ben Mizzi, Jela Redulla, Jupiter Segall, Mark Zilm, Olivia Legrand, Ben Brazier, Marleen Jellema, Stacey Longley and Rob Allen for their time spent volunteering at Bunnings Alexandria. What an amazing club effort!
