The last game before the Redbacks and the Royals made their trip to Nationals in Victor Harbor was very close, with Sydney coming away with a 6-5 win.
With Nationals just around the corner both teams were keen for a positive final outing where they could work on combinations going into the highly competitive arena that is the National Club Championships. The game did not disappoint with precision offence and intense defence from both teams resulting in very few easy chances for either team. Sydney saw Graham topping the scoring for the Redbacks with three goals (with one of them from a penalty), while Victoria, Rob and Anne bagged a goal each to get Sydney over the line.
Game two saw the Korfballing debut of Olivia Legrand and Ben Brazier. With a number of training sessions under their belt, they played amazingly in their first ever game of Korfball. Ben had a monster block on one of Newcastle’s best shooters while Olivia was creating offensive opportunities for her teammates and herself all over the court.
