End of season Korfball match, dinner, drinks and awards!

The date and venue is confirmed so come along and join in the end of season fun!
Match 3.30-5pm, EORA Redfern, followed by a pub crawl through Surry Hills to the Local Taphouse in Darlinghurst for more drinks and a casual dinner at 7.30pm.

Sydney stun favourites with scintillating showing!
The Sydney Redbacks created an upset at the National Korfball Championships with one team reaching the final and the other taking points off the eventual winners in the B grade tournament.
Although missing out on the trophy by the narrowest of margins, both teams can be very proud of their performances, with several players in each team playing their first ever matches; against teams playing regularly throughout the year.

In an unprecedented move, Sydney Redbacks entered two teams into the B Grade competition, evenly split with the hope of both teams being competitive. Debuts were handed to Simon, Will, Elise, Daniel and Ben; in addition to late injury sub Josh who stepped in from the sidelines for the last game.

Wednesday Evening Training!
For the next month the hall unfortunately isn’t available on a Thursday so instead from this week onwards up until Nationals in Melbourne we are switching to Wednesday nights from 8-9pm.
Weds 6th May – 8-9pm
Weds 13th May – 8-9pm
Weds 20th May – 8-9pm
Weds 27th May – 8-9pm
Weds 3rd June – 8-9pm
We have also booked a session on Sat 16th May 2.30-4pm for a full court match and for those newbies (and us oldies) to gain some valuable experience/learn some tactics prior to heading down to Melbourne. Even if you can’t make Melbourne please come along too, the more the merrier!
Australian Korfball Nationals here we come!
The Sydney Redbacks are excited to be entering 2 teams in this years Australian National Championships to be held in Melbourne on the June Long Weekend (7th/8th June 2015).
All players are encouraged to join – whether experienced or new, old or young! The tournament is a great way to gain some experience on court, watch some of the best Australian players and teams, and have a weekend of fun in Melbourne with the Redbacks.
Over the next month in preparation for the 2 day tournament we will be looking to up the training levels with full court bookings on Thursdays and a few practise game sessions on Saturdays. Stay tuned for more info on these dates! Everyone welcome!

Korf Thursdays set to continue!
After the roaring success of finding new players and the return of some familiar faces due to our new Thursday night session and the new Meet Up Group we are set to continue with Korf Thursdays at the EORA Centre as follows:
Thurs 30th Oct – 7-8pm
Thurs 6th Nov – 7-8pm
Thurs 13th Nov – 7-8pm
Thurs 20th Nov – 7-8pm
Thurs 27th Nov – 7-8pm
So with these awesome no’s and new faces I am sure 2015 is set to be a great year for Korf in Sydney!
